Dear access friend,
Recently, a local TV news story ran that made it seem Access Esperanza Clinics provides abortions. We are not abortion providers and never provided abortions. While the TV station quickly made the correction online and then later on its evening news show, we wanted to clarify the situation with our patients and supporters.
Our agency follows federal and state regulations requiring we not perform abortions or give patient referrals to abortion providers. We strictly follow these rules.
Over the years, unfounded rumors about abortion have circulated in this community. We have repeatedly explained that we provide family planning services, not abortions. Our services include family planning education, birth control supplies, Pap tests, breast exams, STI testing/treatment, testing for diabetes and lipids, and other wellness screenings. We offer preventive health care for women and men.
We would never do anything to jeopardize programs that allow our patients who are uninsured and have low incomes to lose vital health care services. Our patients count on us, and for most, we are their only source of preventive health care. We take seriously that responsibility.
If you need our services, please call us at 956-688-3700 or look on our home page to request an appointment online.
